DeGroot, Francis A. "Mick"Francis A. "Mick" DeGroot, of Kaukauna, age 83, passed away in Kaukau na on Thursday, July 29, 2004. He was born in Farebault, MN on September 1 6, 1920, son of the late John and Martina (Van der A) DeGroot. On Janua ry 3, 1942, he married Eunice Modl in Kaukauna. Mick proudly served in t he United States Army as a medic during World War II. He was employed at G iddings and Lewis in Kaukauna, Krautkramer Garage in Wrightstown, McCart hy Construction in Kaukauna, Molach Mill in Appleton, and retired in 19 96 from Carl Bowers and Sons Construction in Kaukauna. Throughout the year s, Mick had many hobbies including: playing cards, bowling, hunting, danci ng, tinkering in the garage, and helping neighbors. He was one of the fir st stock car racers in the area. Mick could never go anywhere without runn ing into people he knew.Mick is survived by his wife, Eunice; sons: Eugene (Jean) DeGroot of Beav er Dam and David (Lauren) DeGroot of Kaukauna; grandchildren: Bob DeGroo t, Jeff (Angie) DeGroot, Jim (Judy) DeGroot, Ken (Michelle) DeGroot, Mi ke DeGroot, Tom DeGroot, Val Edge, Shari (Ben) Ross, Mary DeGroot, Sue (Ho wie) Feldkamp, Bill (special friend, Wendy) DeGroot: 15 great-grandchildre n, a great-great-grandson; brothers: William (Iva) DeGroot of Washingto n, Art DeGroot of Minnesota, Leo DeGroot of Texas, Fritz (Pam) DeGro ot of Missouri, Myron (Ole) DeGroot of Minnesota, and Tony (Marilyn) DeGro ot of Minnesota; sisters: Agnes (Raymond) Webb of Minnesota, Rosella (Dona ld) Wallace of Minnesota, and Elizabeth (Bernard) Sneva of Minnesota.Mick is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Johnny DeGroot, and a s ister, Martha Gillias.The funeral liturgy will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2004, at HO LY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. Jack Mul larkey officiating. Friends will be received at the Fargo Funeral Ho me on Monday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at church on Tuesday from 10 a. m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, K aukauna.

Dave De Groot, age 71 of Kaukauna, passed away at his home on Sunday afternoon, May 1, 2016. Dave was born on October 7, 1944, the son of the late Francis and Eunice (Modl) De Groot. He was a graduate of Kaukauna High School, and over the years found endless hobbies and vocations. At one time he owned his own gas station, and at another time worked as a professional shipwreck diver. He loved being on the water, but maybe loved working on his cars and trucks even more. Later in life he took up race-walking. Dave retired from Pierce Manufacturing after nearly twenty years of employment.
He is survived by four children: Sharon (Ben) Ross of Illinois; Mary (David Donohue) De Groot of Wauwatosa; Sue Feldkamp of Kimberly; and Bill (Traci) De Groot of Stockbridge. His grandchildren are: Nick, Drew, Andy, Jenny, Trevor, Paige, Dayne, Cade, James, Morgan, Izike, and Desi; there are also two great-grandchildren. His step-children (children of Lauren) are: Kris Furem of Kaukauna; Karl (Christy) Furem of Georgia; and Joel Jespersen of Oshkosh. He is also survived by a brother: Eugene (Jean) De Groot of Randolph; and by Lauren's brothers and sisters: Chris (Bob) O'Keefe, Gail (George) Skupniewicz, Keith (Lauri) Klein, and Richard (Cathy) Klein. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, and by his wife Lauren in 2015.
