  Lyle Lewis Austreng, age 78 of Hortonville, passed away unexpectedly with his loving family by his side on Monday evening, January 23, 2012. Lyle was born in Wheeler, Wisconsin, the son of Clarence Oscar and Cynthia Maude (Williams) Austreng. During his working career, Lyle was a truck and bus driver, and a business owner. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, camping, bowling, and card clubs. Lyle is survived by his wife, Helen Jane (Hooyman) Austreng; seven children, David (Patti) Austreng, Charleen (Mike) Schafer, Alice (Kurt) Krueger, Thomas (Robin) Austreng, Andrew Austreng, Ronald (Jennifer) Austreng, and Ann (Brian) Starcheske; grandchildren, Steve Austreng, Kim (Jason) Bricco, Mark Schafer, Angela (James) Prull, Jonathon Schafer, Jenna Schafer, Steve (Jessica) Krueger, Brian (Jalonna) Krueger, Melissa Krueger, Amanda (Ben) Wybrew, Nicole Austreng, Anthony Austreng, Danielle Austreng, Taylor Austreng, Molly Austreng, Adam Austreng, Allison Austreng, Beth Starcheske, Tori Starcheske, Sammi Starcheske, and Nick Starcheske; 10 great-grandchildren, Amarra, Callie, and Brielle Bricco, Autumn and Henry Prull, Vincent Schafer, Alexander and Adrianna Krueger, and Ruby and Lola Wybrew; and sisters, Irene McIntrye and Muriel Joles . Many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends survive Lyle. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles and Stanley Austreng; father and mother-in-law, Al and Alice (Garrity) Hooyman; brother-in-laws, James Hooyman and Harry Joles and Earl McIntrye; and sister-in-law, Shirley Austreng. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 27, 2012, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 109 N. Olk Street, Hortonville, with Fr. James Feely and Greg Layton officiating. Family and friends may visit directly at church Friday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. The family would like to thank Dr. Wascher and Dr. Green, and the entire staff at Theda Clark ICU. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established. Cline & Hanson Funeral Home 209 W.
