  Vanden Heuvel, Dol ores G. (Harrison)Dolores G. (Harrison) Vanden Heuvel, formerly of Kimberly, age 83, pass ed away surrounded by her family at St. Elizabeth Hospital, on Monday, Sep tember 4, 2006, She went to be reunited in heaven with her husband, Sa m, on his birthday. She was born March 4, 1923, in Lena, Wisconsin, the da ughter of Alphonse and Ida (Gerondale) Harrison. Dolores' mother passed aw ay when she was three years old. She spent several years living with relat ives until her father married Angeline Petri and the family was reunite d. Dolores graduated from Green Bay High School and moved to Kimberly, Wis consin, where she made her home. On April 24, 1946, she married Leo (Sa m) Vanden Heuvel. Sam and Dolores were wed for nearly 45 years. Sam pass ed away on February 6, 1991.Dolores was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Kimber ly and was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, where she volunteer ed with rummage sales and funeral luncheons as a member of the Ladies of H oly Spirit. She devoted her life to raising her children and spending ti me with her friends. Her special joys were visiting her daughter in Madiso n, sharing dinners out and vacations with family, and baking great chocola te chip cookies.Dolores was blessed with three children: Jack (Barb) Vanden Heuvel, Kimber ly; Linda (Gary) Hanson, Madison; and Gary (Connie) Vanden Heuvel, Appleto n. She has nine grandchildren: Lori (David) Fuller, Vicki (Josh) Burbey, M atthew (Cindy) Grow, Shelly (Jay) Walker, Brian (Kelly), Scott, Emily, Cas ey and Samuel Vanden Heuvel; and 10 great-grandchildren: Jason, Ryan, Kevi n, Keri, Katelyn, Breanna, Samantha, Megan, Savannah, and Ella. She is al so survived by her brother, Cletus (Doris) Harrison of Rochester, NY; sist ers-in-law, Mary Jane Verbruggen of Little Chute and Joan (Joseph) Verbri ck of Little Chute, her brother-in-law, Paul (Lois) Hermsen, nieces and ne phews.Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her stepmothe r, her father- and mother-in-law, William and Christine Vanden Heuvel, h er brothers: Ray (Dorothy), Rahmon and Louis Harrison, her sisters, Gra ce (Dennis) Moir and Gladyse Harrison, her brother-in-law, Cornelius (Case y) Verbruggen, brothers and sisters-in-law, Doris (Ted) Heid, Alice Hermse n, and Margaret (Clebourne "Chub") Vander Velden, and her step-siblings.The Funeral Mass will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2006, at Holy Sp irit Parish/ Holy Name of Jesus Church, Kimberly. The Rev. Thomas Pomer oy will officiate. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Thursday until the ti me of Mass directly at church. Committal Holy Name Cemetery.The family would like to acknowledge Dolores' special friend of many year s, Cathy Brockman, for being there with her for the fun times - rummage sa les and friendly chats over coffee - as well as the last years when her vi sits were so welcome. Also her sisters-in-law, Mary Jane and Joanie, who b rightened her days with phone calls, visits, playing cards, Bingo, and tri ps up north. Dolores most recently lived at Heartwood Homes in Appleton. T hank you to the staff at Heartwood (her special angels on earth) for yo ur care and enriching her quality of life.
