  Vander Velden, Elizabe th "Betty" (Scherer)Vander Velden, 74, Little Chute, passed away at Colony Oaks Care Cent er on Saturday, May 6, 2006. She was born in Philadelphia, Penn., on Mar ch 11, 1932, daughter of the late Irvin and Elizabeth (Fritchie) Schere r. On March 23, 1953, she married her husband of 39 years, Richard "Dic k" Vander Velden. Betty worked at the Community Blood Center for many yea rs and volunteered her time at Holy Spirit Parish in Kimberly. She enjoy ed playing cards, cribbage, and spending time with her friends and famil y.Betty is survived by her children, Susan (Gerald) Van Grinsven, Kimberl y; Bruce (Sue) Vander Velden, Darboy; Bob Vander Velden, Appleton; Ann (Da vid) Schuh, Combined Locks; grandchildren, Catherine Ann (Shannon) Schmid t, Jessica (Scott) Dufrane, Michael Van Grinsven, Alan (Alissa) Vander Vel den, Adam Vander Velden, Aaron Vander Velden, Autumn and April Vander Veld en, Matthew and Maggie Schuh; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew and Chr istopher Schmidt, Nikki and Bekki Dufrane, and Madisen Elizabeth Van Grins ven, Gavin Vander Velden, and Sofie Vander Velden; her twin brother, Bru ce Scherer, Appleton; brother-in-law, Peter (Debbie) Vander Velden, Applet on; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents; a brothe r, Edward Scherer; and her aunts, uncles and cousins.The funeral liturgy will be at 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2006, at HOLY S PIRIT PARISH, Kimberly Campus, 600 East Kimberly Ave., Kimberly, with F r. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Friends will be received at the church fr om 3 p.m. until the time of the service.
