  Carol Mae Handt, 63, died unexpectedly at Appleton Medical Center on Friday, June 29, 2007, following surgical complications. Carol was born on Sept. 11, 1943, in Appleton to the late Chester and Hildegarde (Dorn) Gardner. She married Robert N. Handt on Feb. 16, 1963, in Winchester; he preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 2001. Carol was employed at Kimberly Clark for a number of years prior to her career as a homemaker. In 1992, she began her career at Pitney Bowes in its Customer Service Department, retiring in March of 2007. She enjoyed bowling, card playing, reading, gardening and especially her cat, Mike. Survivors include her son, Gregg (Holly) Handt, and their children, Felicia (and her daughter, Myranda) and Danielle, Seymour; her daughter, Noelle (Jon) Hauser, and their children, Bryan and Christopher, and Gary Handt, Appleton. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, LeLand. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, Appleton, with the Rev. Judy Deckert officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park.
