  Spielbauer, Edgar A. Edgar A. Spielbauer passed away May 1, 2007, at home, after a short battle with cancer. He was born on May 8, 1922, the son of Leo and Mary (Vanderloop) Spielbauer in Appleton, Wisconsin. Edgar married Mary Cheslock on October 21, 1950. He served as a medic for the U.S. Army in the Pacific and was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery. Edgar liked working in his shop, home repair, fishing, golf, learning history and NASCAR. He is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Dave (Debra) and John; a daughter, Pam (Tom) Saffert; grandchildren: Jason (Emily), Ryan, and Andrew Saffert, April, Denae (Chad) Katalinick, Jamie and David, Samantha, Cassidy, and Skyler; a great-granddaughter, Hailey Saffert; siblings: Norman, Marvin, Bobby, LeRoy, Sister Mary Lee, Carol (Jim) Konetzke; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Dick and Donald. Funeral services for Edgar will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Friday, May 4, 2007, at 11:30 a.m. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
