  Marlyn Margaret Kees, age 78, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014 at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center in Menasha. Marlyn was born May 27, 1935 in Appleton, WI the only child of Sylvester and Gladys (Levknecht) Kees. She spent her early years on a farm and other places in the Stockbridge and Sherwood area. Along with her mother and father she helped run High Cliff Amusement Park in the late 40's and early 50's. The park was well known for its old fashion merry-go-round, flying swings train rides and other amusements. That park is now known as High Cliff State Park. She graduated with a perfect attendance record from Hilbert High School. Following graduation she was employed at Gilberts Paper Mill, Woolworths, Walgreens, Kresge's and K-Mart. Going to the Fox Cities Foxes baseball games was her favorite pastime. She rarely missed a home game and along with a group of her friends would faithfully attend many of the road games. Her love of baseball continued when they became the Timbler Rattlers and moved to their present location. She is survived by a son, Brian (Susan) Foster of St. Louis, MO, and their children Brandon, Madison and Bailey. She is further survived by many cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Martens-Laemmrich Funeral Home in Menasha. Details will appear in the Post Crescent.
