  Lois Helen Taggart, 95, formerly of Beloit, WI, died Sunday, October 12, 2008 in her son's home in El Paso, TX. She moved to El Paso from Beloit in 2000, to be near family. She was born March 13, 1913 in St. Lawrence, WI, the daughter of Ernest E. and Emmaline Budd Rice. Lois graduated from Manawa High School, Manawa, WI. She and Frank "Fritz" Alexander Taggert were married on August 19, 1933 in Manawa, WI. They enjoyed round and square dancing with friends until his death in 1976. Lois was employed as a waitress for a number of years at the Holiday Inn and the Beloit Country Club. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Beloit, WI. Lois enjoyed quilting and fellowship with her friends as a member and treasurer of XYZ and was a volunteer of RSVP. The groups would visit surrounding elementary schools to give demonstrations of old-fashioned ways like quilting and churning. After moving to El Paso, she took great enjoyment in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Frank Taggart, daughter, Loretta Taggart, brother, Ernie Rice, sisters, Adeline Knutson, Helen Laux, and Ruth Louison.
