  McCarthy, Alice C. (Kohl) App leton Alice C. (Kohl) McCarthy, 91, died on September 14, 2003 at the Francisc an Care Center.Alice was born on August 7, 1912, daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Sch ultz) Kohl. Alice was a wonderful home maker and loved to bake and cook. S he will be greatly missed by her daughter, Joan (John) Rickert, Sun Cit y, SC; her sister, Helen Finnerty, Appleton; 3 grandchildren, Jacqueline a nd James Rickert; Ryan McCarthy; and a great-granddaughter, Emily Cover.Al ice is further survived by many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her son, Tim; 5 brothers, Amos, Clarence, Wal ly, Lawrence and Elmer Kohl.The funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 18, 20 03 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 500 West Marquette St., Appleton, with R ev. William Rickert officiating. Visitors will be received at the funer al home on Wednesday, September 17 from 6 until 8 p.m., and again at the c hurch on Thursday from 10:30 until 11:15 a.m. The internment will be he ld at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Appleton.
