McCabe, Howard P. "Howie"Howard P. "Howie" McCabe, of Kaukauna, age 80, passed away Saturday, Janua ry 7, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Howie was born in Kaukauna on Ju ly 20, 1925, to the late Daniel and Jenny (Urling) McCabe. On April 15, 19 50, he married Germaine C. Martzahl at Holy Cross Church. Howie graduat ed from Kaukauna High School in 1942. After serving in the U.S. Coast Guar d, he briefly worked at Thilmany Paper Mill. For the next 29 years he prou dly served for the Kaukauna Fire Department. After retiring he served as 3 rd ward alderman for 10 years.He is survived by his wife, Germaine; his children: Dan (Linda) McCabe, Ka ukauna; Sarah VanMun, Kimberly; William McCabe, Kaukauna; Kathleen (fian ce Shawn Demerath), Kimberly; Patricia McCabe, Philadelphia; Mary (Todd) R oovers, Kaukauna; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; a sister, Do ris McCabe; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy McCabe of Minnesota.He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold; and a sister, Lorraine (S r. John).The memorial service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at BOETTCH ER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna with Fr. Bob Vande nberg officiating. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home on Tuesd ay (TODAY) from 4 p.m. until the time of service. Full military burial rit es will take place at the funeral home following the service. In lieu of f lowers, a memorial fund has been established.
