  Alvina Moericke, age 76, of Appleton, was called to Heaven on Friday, August 23, 2013. She was born on September 18, 1936 in Kaukauna, the daughter of the late Harry T. and Stella (Kasuboski) Wheaton. Vi graduated from Kaukauna High School. On May 21, 1960, she married Elmer H. "Butch" Moericke at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Appleton. Alvina held many secretarial and customer service positions including Sears, Lawrence University, Insurance Brokerage Services, and Alta Resources. She enjoyed crafting, camping, deer hunting, and fishing. Vi was an avid lighthouse collector, and enjoyed touring them. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Vi is survived by her husband of 53 beautiful years, Elmer H. Moericke; children: Jim (Penny DeHart) Moericke, Dawn Moericke, and Kim Moericke; grandchildren: Michele (Jeff) Russert and Benjamin (Brittany) Moericke; great grandson: Odin; sisters-in-law: Dorothy Wheaton and Wilma Ibbetson; and brothers-in-law: Roland Moericke and Howard (Marilyn) Moericke. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Vi was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers: Joyce Wheaton, Duane Wheaton, Benjamin Wheaton, and Dolores (Bud) DeHart. The memorial service for Alvina will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Wichmann Funeral Home downtown chapel. A time of visitation will take place from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated.
