Alice Selig, age 78 of Appleton, WI, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017. She was born on August 21, 1938 in Neenah, the youngest daughter of the late Peter and Leona (Johankrecht) Jorgensen. Alice married Jack E. Selig Sr. in 1957. Alice attended Neenah High School. She worked for Peters Upholstery for 20 years and ThedaCare Medical Center for 15 years before retirement. Alice was very generous and had a love of life that anyone who knew her felt instantly. You could find a neighborhood of children at her home where she loved to host everyone in fun and games. She had many close and longtime friends who were always together laughing and having fun. Her sense of humor and appreciation of hard work are just a few of gifts that she passed on to her children. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the love of her life. Alice is survived by her four children: Doreen (Steve) Lettau, Jack (Tina) Selig Jr., Jeff Selig and Lisa (Gary) Schwobe; six grandchildren: Jonathon (Sara) Selig, Nick (Cara) Selig, Janessa Schwobe, Meghan Schwobe, Natalie Schwobe and Tatum Schwobe; two great grandchildren: Cameron Selig and Zoey Selig; a sister: Roselyn (Russell) Skenandore; and three nephews: Kris Skenandore, Shawn Jorgensen, and Jason (Melissa) Jorgensen. Alice also leaves behind numerous other loving relatives and friends. Alice was further preceded in death by her husband; a brother Paul Jorgensen; longtime friends, Carol Fransway and Sandy Krause; and also her beloved dog Goldie. Alice requested a private celebration of life for the family. The family wishes to thank all of those at ThedaCare Medical Centers who cared for her during her last illness. The kindness, compassion and caring was amazing. We will miss her and find comfort in knowing that she is free from pain and in God's loving arms.
