  Marilyn M. (Maertz) Evers, Darboy, 77, died Thursday, May 3, 2007, at home after a second bout with cancer. During her last days, she was surrounded by many friends and loved ones and her hospice caregivers. She was born in Grand Chute on Oct. 26, 1929, to the late Raymond and Rose (Spoerl) Maertz. On Oct. 21, 1950, Marilyn married Robert T. Evers. He preceded her in death Nov. 16, 1991. Marilyn made a name for herself in the community through her 25 years of service as president of the Heart of the Valley Chamber of Commerce. A woman of deep faith, she was active in the Catholic Church for many years, a dedicated parishioner and lay minister for Holy Spirit parish. Marilyn was ever-generous and compassionate and after her retirement from the Chamber in 1996, enjoyed volunteering at the Emergency Shelter of Appleton and knitting caps and sweaters for the homeless. A lifelong animal lover, she adopted all of her pets from the Humane Society. Marilyn will be remembered for her optimism, independence, warm heart and giving nature. Marilyn is survived by her children, John (Sue Ann), Appleton and Cate; six grandchildren, Kyra, Jessica, Michelle, Kelsey, Samuel and Anna; sister and brother, Alice Mollen and Karl (Judy) Maertz; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Bernice (Rob) Pritzl, Dot (Don) George, Dick Evers and Pat Evers. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister, Gerald (Geraldine) Maertz and Theodora (Anthony) Wyngaard; and her brother and sister-in-law, Ted Evers, Ignatius Mollen, Judy Maertz, and Marlene Evers. The Funeral Mass will be at 12 noon Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at Holy Spirit Parish - Holy Angels Site (W2796 County Hwy. KK). Visitation will be Tuesday after 10 a.m., until the time of Mass directly at church. Committal at the Holy Angels Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
