  Richard Jacob Pompa, 64, Greenville, passed away on Sept. 7, 2007, in Hoover, Ala., as the result of an automobile accident. He was born on April 21, 1943, in Appleton, the son of Jacob and Martha (Luedtke) Pompa. He spent six years serving his country in the National Guards. On July 1, 1967, he was united in marriage Linda Peters in Greenville. Richard formerly worked at Piggly Wiggly, Miller Electric, Akrosil, and Bonta Digital where he retired from in 2005. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, lawn work. He loved and cherished his grandchildren. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Hortonville. Richard was a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Greenville where he served as a Board Member and a part of the ushering team. He is survived by his wife, Linda; two sons, Daniel (Lisa) Drinkall, Appleton; James (Alaina) Schug and their children, Ruby and Levi, Clearwater, Fla.; one daughter, Sarah (Brad) Hinzman and their daughter, Maizie, Appleton; his mother-in-law, Virginia Peters, Greenville; four brothers, Allan (Karen) Pompa, Montello; Tom (Diane) Pompa, Appleton; Jacob (Gayle) Pompa, Kaukauna; William Pompa, Appleton. He is further survived by in-laws, David (Donna) Peters, Florida; John (Barbara) Peters, Greenville; Paul (Kathleen) Peters, Grand Chute; Diane (William) Conner, Mosinee; Mark (Annette) Peters, Greenville; Andrew (Bonnie) Peters, Greenville; Kay Swederski, Beaverton, Ore.; Kathi (Kevin) Gay, Greenville, also numerous nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, nephew, Joseph Peters, and father-in-law Richard Peters. The Funeral Service for Richard will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Greenville with the Rev. Paul Shackel officiating. Interment will be in the Highland Memorial Park in Appleton where full military rites will be held. Visitation will be at the church (N1615 Meadowview Drive, Greenville) on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m., and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home 109 W.
