Edward K. Jackson January 9, 1930 - January 3, 2006 Edward K. Jackson passed away peacefully in his home after a five-year battle with multiple cancers. Born on January 9, 1930 in Aberdeen, SD, he was a graduate of St. Thomas University in St. Paul, MN with a BA in Business Administration. After graduation, he moved to California where he met his wife Frances Stoeckert Jackson, who passed away in 2000. A resident of Castro Valley since 1957, Ed was a past president of Castro Valley Lion's Club; past Zone Chairman Lion's District AC3; and a member of the Foundation Boards of Chabot College and Moreau Catholic High School. In 1988, he retired as First Vice President at Dean Witter Reynolds & CO in Hayward, CA and built a lake home at Pine Mountain Lake in Groveland, CA where he enjoyed fishing and golfing. A faithful member of Transfiguration Catholic Church, he is survived by his daughters Angela Jackson, of Berkeley, CA and Mary Nelson and her husband Dr. Robert Nelson of Villanova, PA; his sisters Alice Barry of Lake Forest, IL; Mollie Atkinson of Fremont, CA; and Kathy Byrne of Santa Rosa, CA; his brother Bob Jackson of Minneapolis; and his loving companion, Connie Rusk of Castro Valley. A memorial mass will be said at Transfiguration Catholic Church in Castro Valley on Monday, January 9, 2006 at 5:30 p.m. A reception will immediately follow in the Church Hall. The family prefers that donations be sent in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 1700 Webster St., Oakland, CA 94612.
