  Chilton -- Funeral services for Michael Gruber, aged 75, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Joseph Schwabenlander at St. John Friday at 5:30 a.m., were held at St. Mary's church here Monday at 9:30 a.m. The Rev. H. E. Hunck officiated and burial was made in the church cemetery. Mr. Gruber was born in Bavaria, Germany, April 5, 1859, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Gruber. He came to this country in 1880 and settled on a farm in the Town of Charlestown. In 1886 he was married to Miss Margaret Koehler of the Town of Charlestown. The couple located on the farm now owned by John Weber. Five years later Mr. Gruber bought the farm now owned by Nick Kampfer in the Town of Chilton and the family resided there until 1932, when Mrs. Gruber died and Mr. Gruber went to St. John to reside with his daughter. Survivors are: three sons, John of Visalia, Cal., George and Michael of the town of Chilton; five daughters, Mrs. Philip Nett of Jericho, Mrs. Joseph Schwabenlander, St. John; Mrs. Peter Breit, Neshota; Mrs. John Schaback and Mrs. Anton Raminger of the Town of Chilton; 40 grandchildren, a brother, George of Bavaria, Germany, and two sisters, Mrs. John Michels of Sheobygan and Sister M. Wolfgang of Mankato, Minn. One daughter, Mrs. William Weber, died in 1918. Besides the children, all of whom attended the services, out-of-town persons at the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. John Michels and Selina Weber of Sheboygan, Mrs. and Mrs. Andrew Dhein and daughter, Genrose, of Kiel, Mrs. and Mrs. John Gebhard of Green Bay, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Dreis, Miss M?? M? of Milwaukee, Mrs. and Mrs. Joseph Schwabenlander, St. John and Mrs. Albert Richart of St. Anna.
