  John Berrens, 63, Chilton, ill for six months, died about 1:30 this morning at a Fond du Lac hospital where he had been confined for two weeks. Berrens, a former Chilton alderman, was born Dec. 12, 1886, in Chilton and lived there all his life. He was a butcher. He was a member of the Holy Name society of St. Mary Catholic church, Chilton. Survivors are the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Elroy Starfeldt, Chilton; four brothers, Peter Berrens, Menasha, Joseph Berrens, Appleton, and Edward and Carl Berrens, Chilton; three sisters, Mrs. Elmer Bostick, Fond du Lac, Mrs. Lloyd Link, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Anton Zechmeister, Saukville; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Chilton, after 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon. The rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock on Sunday and Monday evenings. After the cortege forms at the funeral home at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning, services will be at St. Mary Catholic church, Chilton, at 9:30 with the Rev. Joseph Bartelme, pastor, in charge. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
