  Jerome Edward Koutnik, 66, from Cadott, WI, died Jan. 14, 2009, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI. He was born August 6, 1942, in Appleton, the son of Clifford and Helen Koutnik of Sherwood, WI. Jerome was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Sherwood. He enjoyed spending time in the shop with Jim, riding the 4-wheeler, many family events, accordion music played by his father, and enjoying the outdoors. He will be sadly missed by his brother, William Koutnik, Appleton; sister, Teresa (James) Karls, Fond du Lac; brother, Robert (Renee) Koutnik, Shiocton; and brother-in-law, Richard Van Elzen, Darboy. Jerome is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jerome was preceded in death by his father Clifford, in 2002; his mother Helen, in 2007; his sister, Gloria (Koutnik) Van Elzen, in 1998; and his grandparents. Private Family Christian Burial Services were held at Fargo Funeral Home, Kaukauna. Father Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sherwood, presided over the services. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery, Sherwood. Memorials may be directed to the Special Olympics Foundation. The family extends a special thank you to Jim and Sue Gindt who were long- term caregivers for Jerome.
