  John Michael "Mike" Schwalbach, age 55, passed away at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, January 18, 2011. Mike was born on March 30, 1955, to the late John F. and Rita C. (Maher) Schwalbach. He married Joan Hammer on May 21, 1977, in Menasha. Mike was employed as a salesman at Motion Industries, Appleton, for over 35 years. He was a well-known sportsman. For many years Mike was the Junior Varsity Soccer Coach at Menasha High School, Assistant Varsity Soccer Coach at MHS, and a member of the Menasha Area Soccer Club. He was an avid golfer, bowler and played in several softball leagues. He especially enjoyed the time spent with his grandchildren. Most of all, Mike enjoyed vacationing in Aruba each year with Joan. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Joan; his children, Jason (Theresa) Schwalbach, and their children Tyler and Kylee; and Crystal Schwalbach and her son, Logan; his sister, Mary Hawkinson; his brother, Edward G. Schwalbach (Special Friend, Dawn Conant); his uncles, Edward, Richard and Raymond Schwalbach; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Schwalbach; his grand daughter, Brynn Schwalbach; and his in-laws, Joseph and Lorena Hammer. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2011, at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1617 W. Pine Street, Appleton, with Fr. Dennis Ryan officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for his grandchildren's education.
