  Frances M. Subert, age 98, of Appleton, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Heartwood Homes in Menasha. She was born on March 8, 1914 in Kimberly, the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Gluiter) VandenWyngaard. On October 10, 1933, Frances married Edward Subert at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute. She was the head cook at St. Elizabeth Hospital for 37 years. Frances was a member of St. Bernadette and Sacred Heart Catholic Churches. She was a great cook and loved to play cards. Frances is survived by her sisters: Rosemary Pitsch, Lillian (Donald) Biese, and Betsy Wineski; brothers: Maureanus (Lola) and Leonard VandenWyngaard; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Subert; sons, Marvin and Richard Subert; grandson, Peter Subert; and seven siblings. The funeral liturgy for Frances will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 E. Fremont Street, Appleton. Fr. Andrew Kurz will be officiating. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Appleton. A visitation will be held on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial masses for Frances are appreciated.
