  Loretta A. (Geurts) LaCourt, 96, formerly of De Pere, passed away Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, at a local nursing home. She was born Dec. 30, 1913, in De Pere to the late Peter and Anna (Gossen) Geurts. Loretta married Aaron "Spike" LaCourt on Oct. 16, 1944, at St. Mary Catholic Church, De Pere. For many years the two of them ran the family farm in the Luxemburg area together, producing several Grand Champion Registered Holsteins. Spike passed away on Nov. 16, 1992. Survivors include her twin daughters, Kay Geurts, New Franken; and Mary (Service) Hurst, Athens, Ga.; a special nephew, Jim (Evelyn) LaCourt, Foster City, Mich.; and a sister-in-law, Delores Davister. Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron; her parents; siblings, Louis (Stella) Geurts, Irene (Ed) Geurts, Agnes (Joseph) Le Brun, Cecelia (Irvin) Gevers, twins, Margaret and Martha Geurts, Jeanette (Joe) Jansen, Arthur (Erma) Geurts, Wilbur (Ellen) Geurts, and Cecil (Helen) Depeau. Family and friends may call Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home at 7 p.m. with Deacon Kevin DeCleene officiating. Entombment will be at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd. Loretta's family would like to extend a special thank you to Jane Carlin for her loving support in the last eight years of Loretta's life and to the staff at Ledgeview Nursing Home.
