  Mrs. Peter Dohr, mother of Jacob Dohr of this city passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Peter Vollmer, at Hilbert of Wednesday night, April 19th, at the advanced age of eighty years, five months and twelve days, from old age. Margaret Schuh, a native of Germany, who was born in that country on Nov. 11, 1841 and grew to womanhood there, was married to Peter Dohr in January 1868 and in March of the same year immigrated to America with her husband. They came direct to Wisconsin and settled in the town of Woodville, a mile west of Hilbert on the farm now operated by their son Anton. They worked diligently and with persistent frugality succeeded in building a fine home in that unbroken forest, in which they raised a family of nine children. In 1906 they retired from active labor, turning the farm over to their son, Anton and moved into the village to spend their declining years enjoying the fruits of their labor. On April 11, 1908, death visited the home and took the husband and father and shortly after Mrs. Dohr went to live with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Vollmer with whom she was making her home when the final summons came. Mrs. Dohr was an exemplary woman, possessing qualities that go to make an ideal wife and mother and her home reflected the influence which she exerted there, contentment, love and affection. Her high standing in the neighborhood in which she lived and among all who knew her was a testimony to her true worth. She died as she lived a true Christian woman. The funeral will be held this Saturday morning, from St. Mary's church, Rev. Fr. Geier celebrating Requiem Mass and interment in St. Mary's cemetery. She is survived by six sons, Nicholas, Peter, Joseph of Appleton, John P. of New Holstein, Anton of Woodville, and Jacob of Chilton and three daughters, Mrs. John Meier, Mrs. John Anheler of Woodville and Mrs. Peter Vollmer of Hilbert.
