Francis W. Rasmussen , 79, of Appleton passed away Sunday, March 9, 2008 at the Appleton Medical Center. He was born December 17, 1928 to the late Nels and Martha Rasmussen. Francis married Carol (Schmidt) Rasmussen on April 7, 1956. Francis was a self-employed farmer for 25 years and was also a truck driver for Valley, Carew Concrete and Murphy Concrete for 25 years. Francis is survived by his wife Carol, two sons; Richard (Judy) Rasmussen of Appleton WI, Steven Rasmussen of Iola WI, two daughters; LuAnn Schommer of Appleton WI, Mary (Greg) McDaniels of Englewood FL, one brother; Herbert Rasmussen of Larson WI, five sisters; Lucille Asmuth of Neenah, Hilda Van Camp of Appleton, Ina Rasmussen of Neenah, Leona LeMay of Neenah, Rose (Robert) Buser of Winchester, nine grandchildren; Lindsey Cooper, Carrie Rasmussen, Rollie, Phillip and Nick Schommer, Rachel, Cheri, Andrew and Allen Heimmerman. Francis was preceeded in death by his parents, two brothers; Elmer Rasmussen, Earl Rasmussen, and a sister Evelyn Reddin. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 12 at St. Thomas Moore Church with Father Gerald Falk presiding. Visitation time will be held from 9:30a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Church and the funeral service will be at 11:00a.m.
