  Edward W. Worm, age 82, New London, died following a short illness on Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at St. Joseph Residence, New London. Ed was born on September 21, 1927, in Chicago, IL, son of the late Carl and Naomi (Sommer) Worm. On June 6, 1960, he was united in marriage to Karen Schuh. She preceded him in death on February 9, 2008. Ed lived and farmed in the Lebanon area all his life. He was well know by his nickname "Wolf River Ed" because of his life long passion for fishing the river. It was said he caught more fish on the Wolf River than any other fisherman. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London. Ed is survived by a daughter, Sherryl Gau, (special friend, John Prahl), New London; two sons: Gary Worm (special friend, Sarah Lucht), Amherst; her daughter, Kelly (Cassidy) Olson and her son, Oliver; Chuck Worm (special friend, Betty Dey) Sobieski; two brothers: Marlin (Sandra) Worm, and Roger Worm (special friend, Charlotte), both of New London; sister and brother-in-law, Marylin (Curt) Sommer, New London. Ed is further survived by special friend, Marta Kamba and granddaughter, Kyla Werner, "Ed's Little Helper"; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Ed will be held on Friday, July 23, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London, with Rev. Bill Heiges officiating. Burial will be in the Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Lebanon Township. Visitation will be at the church Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Cline & Hanson Funeral Home 209 W.
