  HILARY J. SALENTINE, age 75, died at 11;40 a.m. Thursady September 8, 1983 following a short illness. He was born JULY 28, 1908 in Luxemburg and had been an Appleton resident from the time he was a young child. Mr Salentine retired from Thilmany Pulp and Paper Company in 1970. Following this he was employed by Zaug's Vending and Food Service for ten years. While employed at Thilmany Pulp and Paper Company he was extremely active in the Pulp, Sulphite and Paper Mill Workers of America AFL-CIO. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Mens' Society of St. Joseph, the Quarter Century Club of Thilmany Paper, the Golden Agers of Appleton/ Menasha, the 55 Grand Club, the AARP and was an active follower of all local sports. Survivors include four daughters and sons-inlaw; Norine & Harold Sievert, Judy & Robert Hietpas, Helen & Daniel Lison, all of Appleton; Mary & Lawrence Swier, Little Chute; two sons and a daughter-in-law; Robert, Appleton; James & Kate Appleton; 22 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and dear friend, Edna Steinberg, Appleton. He was preceded in death by his wife ARIA HORNKE SALENTINE, December 9, 1979. The funeral will be at 12 noon Saturday at St. Josph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Roger Zach officiating. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park.
