  Roger A. Smith, age 70, New London, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016. He was born on April 1, 1945, New London son of the late Aloysius and Vera (Berndt) Smith. On April 30, 1966, Roger was united in marriage to Patricia Affeldt in Bear Creek. He worked as a farmer in Maple Creek for 44 years. Roger enjoyed fishing and hunting in his younger years. He also helped on auctions for O'Conner Sales and Realty. He is survived by his wife Pat; daughters, Sharon Smith, Bear Creek; Pam (Ben) Osterberg, Green Bay; sons, Walter Smith, New London; Richard (Rhonda) Smith, New London and Dan (Stacy) Smith, New London. He is further survived by 12 grandchildren: Lindsey, Ashley, Samuel, Nathaniel, Mya, Regina, Sarah, Colton, Alexis, Shanna, Emma and Caleb and great-grandchildren, Austyn and Athyen. He is preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter Hannah. Funeral Mass for Roger will be held on Friday, January, 29, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bear Creek with Fr. Jack Mullarkey officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Waupaca Elder Care Home staff for the care and concern shown to Roger during his stay.
