Marvin A. Lisowe, age 81, of Brothertown, died on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at his home following a 21 year battle with cancer. He was born May 14, 1932 in the Town of Brothertown, son of the late Leo & Irene (Simon) Lisowe. He married Lucille A. Hansen on May 5, 1954 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Jericho. Having never really retired, Marvin farmed on his family's homestead his entire life and treasured every moment he spent on the farm. During this time, he had also been a local seed corn dealer for 39 years. Marvin was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, formerly Holy Trinity Parish, the Brothertown Fishing Club, and the Chilton Eagles Club. Marvin was a person who truly celebrated life and all that it offered him. He certainly worked hard and constantly kept busy, but Marvin made time to play hard as well. He looked forward to and generally arrived first to family gatherings knowing that there was a good chance for a game of Sheepshead. He also took time each year for the sturgeon spearing season on Lake Winnebago where he was able to, again, share time and stories with family and friends. On occasions, Marvin was known to pull a practical joke on people, but his selfless nature of caring for others' needs above his own was something that everyone appreciated and will miss greatly. He is survived by his wife: Lucille; his children: Eugene Lisowe of Mt. Calvary, Paul (Marcia) Lisowe of Chilton, Daniel (Judy) Lisowe of Chilton, Steven Lisowe and his special friend, Lisa Mellen of Appleton, Linda (DuWayne) Halbach of Chilton, Terrance (Gail) Lisowe of Chilton; grandchildren: Tammy (Jim) Brocker, Jesse Lisowe, Ryan "Buddy" (Megan) Lisowe, Andrew Lisowe, Carrie Lisowe and special friend Gary Smith, Kelly Lisowe and special friend Bob Pahl, Justin Lisowe, Jeremy (Christie) Lisowe, Jennifer Lisowe and special friend Doug Depies, Sarah (Josh) Count, Jonathon Lisowe, Tiffany Halbach, Kelsey Halbach, Melissa (James) Shomin, Matthew Zanon, Heather Zanon, Cara (Phillip) Fong; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister: Mary (David) Heller of Chilton; a brother: Ambrose Lisowe of Marytown; sister-in-law: Mildred Koenigs of Fond du Lac; and a brother-in-law: Roger (Lillian) Hansen of New Holstein. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; his father and mother-in-law: Leo & Lydia Hansen; brothers: Claude (Marie) Lisowe, Martin (Irma) Lisowe; brothers-in-law: Leo, Jr. (Margie) Hansen, and Leo "Jim" Koenigs; and a sister-in-law: Lorna Lisowe. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, July 15, 2013 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton with the Rev. Larry Abler, O.F.M. officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Sunday, July 14, 2013 and on Monday at the church from 9:30 am until 10:30 am. A parish vigil service will be held on Sunday evening at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials given in the name of Marvin A. Lisowe are appreciated.
