  Louis A. Zitzelsberger, 90, of the Chilton area, died on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at Oak Creek Assisted Living Center in Kiel. He was born Oct. 13, 1918, in Brothertown. Louis was the son of Joseph and Mary (Bloechel) Zitzelsberger. He married Margaret M. Martin on June 6, 1942, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Allenton. She preceded him in death on May 7, 2002. Louis tinkered with cars, trucks, tractors and anything with motors. He liked to ice fish and garden. His greatest joy was his great-grandchild, Alex. Louis served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion in Stockbridge. Survivors include his two children: Madlyn (William) Bittner of New Holstein and Alois Zitzelsberger of Elco, Wis.; three grandchildren: Melissa (Rob) Gustafson of Fond du Lac, Matthew Bittner of Golden, Colo., and Melinda Bittner of Sheboygan; one great-grandchild: Alex Gustafson; two brothers: Leo (Violet) Zitzelsberger of Stockbridge and Gilbert (Shirley) Zitzelsberger of Menasha; sisters-in-law: Marian Zitzelsberger, Agnes Zitzelsberger, Mavis Zitzelsberger; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; sister, Agnes Schaefer; brothers, Adolph, Lawrence, Tony, Norbert, Alex, Lester and Joseph Jr. Services: Funeral Services for Louis A. Zitzelsberger will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at Wieting Family Funeral Home, 411 W. Main St., Chilton, with Deacon Dennis Bennin officiating. Burial will be at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Cemetery. Visitation: Friends may call at Wieting Family Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7, and on Thursday, Jan. 8, at Wieting Family Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The family would like to thank the staff of Oak Creek Assisted Living Center for all of the loving care given to Louis during his time there. Wieting Family Funeral Home is serving the family.
