  Jim "Otis" Kolb, age 58, passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a brief illness on Saturday, July 19, 2014. Otis was born on September 8, 1955, in Oconto Falls, and he lived in Freedom most of his life. He graduated from Freedom High School in 1973, and he began driving feed trucks for Carstens Elevator in Kaukauna afterwards. Otis went on to drive dump trucks for many years at Swinkles and Carew before buying his own truck and working independently. He loved to work with his hands on trucks, motors, and engines. Otis was always happy to help out his neighbors, especially when working with his Kubota during the winter clearing sidewalks. He was always a very hard worker who also knew how to have a good time. Otis was loved very much by those that were closest to him, and he'll be greatly missed. Otis is survived by his siblings, Carol (Russel) Lynch, Barbara (Pete) Van Wychen, Jack Kolb, and Jeff (Donna) Kolb; many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Beverly Kolb; sister, Patty Van Handel; and nephew, Marcus Van Wychen. A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the FARGO FUNERAL HOME, 400 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Kaukauna. A time to share memories will take place at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established. Published in Appleton Post-Crescent on July 22, 2014
