  Esther Grunwaldt, age 100, passed away Friday, October 10, 2008, at Cherry Meadows in Appleton. Esther was born September 8, 1908, in the village of Black Creek, the daughter of the late Charles and Emma (DeWall) Meier. She was united in marriage to Minard "Porky" Grunwaldt on December 21, 1929, sharing 60 years together before his death in 1989. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Black Creek. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law: James (Jo) Grunwaldt, Menasha; Roy (Valarie) Grunwaldt, Wisconsin Rapids; Jack (Carolin) Grunwaldt, Black Creek; a daughter and son-in-law: Betty (Fred) Lemke, Shawano; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Grunwaldt, Sequin, WA; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild and a sister Zetta Little, Shiocton. In addition to her husband and parents, Esther was preceded in death by a son, Lee; a granddaughter, Nancy Grunwaldt; three sisters and four brothers-in-law: Laura (Ervin) Rohloff, Elma (Royce) Locke, Billie (Earl) Pasch and Don Little. Friends may call at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Black Creek, on Sunday, October 12, 2008, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Monday, October 13, 2008, from 9:30 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Steve Schlicht officiating.
