  Robert "Bob" Werth, age 79, of Menasha, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. On May 19, 1933, Bob was born the son of the late Ferdinand and Leona (Klitzke) Werth in Oshkosh. Bob served his country in the US Army from 1954-1956. On December 22, 1956, he was united in marriage to LaVerne Buchholz at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa. They became members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Menasha shortly after they were married. They were both active with the church, Bob being involved with the maintenance of the church. He worked for Eggers Industries for 41 years until his retirement in 1998. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and fishing. Bob also loved to watch the Packers, Brewers, and the Golf Channel. Bob will be missed by his loving wife of 55 years, LaVerne; his children: Cindy (Dan) Geiger, Pamela (fiancé, Kendall Rasmussen) Van Hout, Susan (Keith) Schroeder, James (Wendy) Werth; his grandchildren: Drew (Vickey) Schmidt, Kristi (Brian) Kramp, Adam Van Hout, Eric (fiancé, Molly) Van Hout, Amber Van Hout, Heather and Brooke Schroeder, Robert (Brittany) Werth, Holly (Greg) Lohff, and Tara Werth; his great-grandchildren: Tiana, Anayjah, Alayna, Anya, Olivia, Silvia, Jaden, and one on the way in October; two brothers-in-law: Arlyn (Betty) Buchholz and Gilbert Buchholz; sisters-in-law: Luella (Warren) Zimmerman and Gayle Werth. He is further survived by other family and friends. He was also preceded in death by three brothers: Vernon (Marion) Werth, Harold (Helen) Werth, Richard "Dick" Werth and one sister, Marion (Harold) Schroeder. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 28, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 Broad Street, Menasha, with Rev. Steven Billings officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 27, 2012, at Martens-Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee Street, Menasha. Visitation will again be on Friday morning from 9:30 am until the hour of the service at the church. Military Honors will follow at the church. Interment will take place at Resthaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Prairie Homes and the nurses at St. Elizabeth Hospital for their compassion and loving care given to Bob. They also want to extend a very special thank you to Pastor Keith Tomlinson for his weekly visits. Sign the guest book and light a candle in memory of Bob at our website.
