  Raymond J. Procknow, age 96, of Neenah passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2008, at Vallhaven Care Center. He was born May 21, 1912, in the Town of Clayton, son of the late Herman and Ella (Bondow) Procknow. Raymond married Mae Frances Westphal on April 15, 1941. He was a resident of Neenah all his life. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Ray was employed at Eggers Hardwood Products for 35 years and custodian at Immanuel United Church for 35 years. He was in the Navy for three years serving in World War II. Ray was on a L.S.T. carrying supplies across English Channel for two years as a carpenter mate. He enjoyed dancing, fishing, playing cards and watching baseball. Ray and Mae took many tours, a Caribbean cruise and also enjoyed Christmas shows at the Fireside. His biggest enjoyment was his family, grandchildren and great-grandchild. He is lovingly survived by his wife, Mae, of 67 years; daughter, Donna (James) Handler; son, Gary (Kathy) Procknow; three grandchildren: Steven (Amber) Handler, Laura (Sam) Oatman, Kevin Procknow; great-grandson, Jalen Scott Oatman; granddaughter-in-law, Lauren Procknow; and sister-in-law, Vivian Braun. Ray was preceded in death by their infant son, Wayne; infant sister, Lillian Procknow; grandson, Scott Procknow; brother and sister-in-law, Merlin and Delia Procknow; sister and brother-in-law; Lorna and Frank Mankiewicz; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Elizabeth and Carlton Althaus; and brother-in-law, Harry Braun. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Westgor Funeral Home, 205 W. Doty Avenue, Neenah, with Pastor Steven Handler officiating. Visitation will be held at the Westgor Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 27, 2008, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Ray's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the staff at Vallhaven Care Center for all their love and support of Ray.
