  Thomas J. Murphy, age 70, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005, at St. V incent Hospital in Green Bay, eight days after celebrating his 50th weddi ng anniversary. He was born on Nov. 15, 1934, in De Pere, the son of the l ate Edward and Blanche (Wright) Murphy. In 1955, he married Elizabeth V an Laanen. He attended East De Pere and St. Norbert high schools, graduati ng in 1953. He was active in football during high school. Tom was past mas ter of the Washington Lodge F&AM in Green Bay and was also active in the W iniecki VFW Post # 9677 of Bellevue. He served his country in the United S tates Army after World War II in Germany. Tom was employed as an electrici an in Local #158 until he retired. Tom loved golfing with his good frie nd Doug Elsner at the Woods.He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, of Green Bay; his children, Cindy ( Joe) Myers of Green Bay; John (Vicki) Murphy of Green Bay; Paul (Debra) Mu rphy of Omaha, NE, and Susan Murphy and her special friend Gary Lancel le of Green Bay; his grandchildren, Justin (Jen) Myers of Hudson, WI; Luc as Myers of Canton, Ohio; Chelsea Myers of Somerset, WI; Holly (Carlos) Mo zo of Honolulu, HA; Staci (Patrick) Willequette of Kaukauna, WI; Courtn ey (Eric) Tostrud of Hudson, WI; Jaimi (Jason) Andersen of England; and Ni ck and Chris Collier of Green Bay; his great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ari ana, Raistlin, Sage, Drake, Andrew, Danielle, Gracelyn, Payton, Alexande r, Jade, and Arabella. Tom is also survived by brothers and sisters, Jam es (Shirley) Murphy of Milwaukee; Pat Van Gruensven of De Pere; Mary (Vern on) Sorenson of Green Bay, and Richard (Linda) Murphy of De Pere.He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Joe Van Gruensven.A memorial service for Tom will be conducted on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 200 5, at 7 p.m. at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 East Mason St., in Gre en Bay with Rev. Ron Belitz officiating. Friends may call at the funeral h ome on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. The VFW and Maso nic services will be at 6 p.m. at the funeral home on Tuesday.
