  The Rev. Alfred H. Hietpas of Suamico , a ge 81 , died Sunday , March 22 , 1992 at St. Paul's Home , Kaukauna , aft er a long illness . He was born Februar y 18 , 1911 , in Little Chute , t he son of the late Henry and Mary ( Joosten ) Hietpa s . He received his e ducation at St. Norbert High School and College at St. Paul Semin ar y, St Paul . He was ordained May 22 , 1937 , in Green Bay, by Bishop Rh ode. He served as assi stant pastor at St. Margaret Mary , Neenah ; St. Lu ke, Two Rivers , Holy Name , Kimberly ; S t. John , Green Bay; and St. Jo hn, Antigo . Father Hietpas served as chaplain in the 83rd Coa st Artille ry in Panama from 1942-46 . He then served as pastor at St. Joan of Ar c, Goodma n ; St. Peter and Paul , Institute ; St. Nicholas ,Freedom (195 7-1976 ) ; St. Benedict and St . Pius, Suamico and Little Suamico . He ret ired July 1981 and served as temporary administrat or at St. James, Cooper stown, for a time . Father Hietpas was deanery chaplain of the Ho ly Na me Society for many years and director of the diocesan Rural Life Co nference from 1969-1975. He also served as Episcopal Vicar of Vicariate V from 1973-1977Survivors include a brother and two sisters in-law, Nick and Esther Hietp as of Little Chute a nd Rose Hietpas of Appleton, a sister, Mrs. Barbara A rts of Appleton; nieces and nephews; an d two very special friends, Lorrai ne Sies and Fr. Gordon Gilsdorf. He was preceded in death by five brother s: Martin, John, Joseph, Simon and Frank; three sisters, Hattie Lamers, Ma rie Ebben, and Verona Hietpas. SOURCE : KAUKAUNA TIMES OBITUARY
