See Image Verhagen, Irene Little Chute Age 91, died Thursday, February 28, 2002 at Parkside Care Center, Little C hute following a short illness. She was born June 24, 1910 in Wrightstow n; daughter of Peter and Mary (Timmers) Vande Hey. Irene married Wilbert V erhagen, May 23, 1935 in Wrightstown and he preceded her in death Janua ry 27, 1971. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Little Chute a nd a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary Jacob Coppus Post Litt le Chute and the Golden Agers. She was an avid sheepshead and cribbage pla yer, loved flowers and crocheting and enjoyed bowling and bingo.Mrs. Verhagen is survived by two sons: Merle (Gloria) Verhagen, Mountai n, Wisconsin; and Clayton (Jean) Verhagen, Little Chute; a daughter-in-la w, Jeanie Verhagen, Kaukauna; 12 grandchildren: Tim Verhagen, Debra (Jef f) Evers, Mark Verhagen, Bill (Brenda) Verhagen, Lynn (Randy) Verhagen, Me rle Verhagen, Jr., Kay (Mark) White, Gary (Diane) Verhagen, Jon Verhage n, Kevin Verhagen, Lisa Verhagen and her special friend Ryan, Sara Verhage n; ten great-grandchildren: Amy, Holly, Jason, Andrew, Brandon, Casey, Log an, Kayley, Dylan and Carley; a brother, Leonard (Ceil) Vande Hey, Litt le Chute; three sisters-in-law: Mary and Jane Vande Hey and Colette Nyte s. She was also preceded in death by a son, Fredrick Verhagen; eight broth ers and six sisters.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2002 at S t. John Church with Rev. Frank Schrage officiating. Interment will be in S t. Paul Cemetery, Combined Locks. Friends may call at the church from 9: 30 a.m. Saturday until the time of the mass. A memorial has been establish ed.The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff at Parksi de Car e Center for their care and compassion for mother.
