  Verna Delia Lukasko, age 87, Eland, town of Elderon, died Friday, June 23, 2000 at her home. She was born February 15, 1913 in the township of Elderon, the daughter of the late Mathias and Antonetta (VanDeHey) Spranger. On August 7, 1935, Verna was united in marriage to John Lukasko, Jr. in Birnamwood. He preceded her in death on January 10, 1974. Survivors include four children, James (JoAnn) Lukasko, Edgar, Suzanne (Elton) Bauch, Birnamwood, Geri Starr, Eland and Elaine (Doug) Vertein, Milwaukee; 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one brother, Lyman Spranger, Wittenberg; three sisters-in-law, Martha Spranger, Hatley, Verna Spranger and Theresa Spranger, both of Wittenberg; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Verna was preceded in death by one daughter, Janet, two sisters, Adala Grissmann and Lillian VanWettering and five brothers, Norman, Lester, Raymond, Orville and Herbert Spranger. Funeral services were held June 26, 2000 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Wittenberg. The Rev. Michael Carroll officiated. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
