  Laura Ella Greely, age 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 13, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Laura was born on January 20, 1918, daughter of the late Herman and Delia (Langlotz) Riehl, in the Township of Ellington. She was united in marriage to Merle Emery Greely on July 12, 1936, at the Grace Lutheran Parsonage in Maple Creek Township. He preceded her in death in 1995. Laura was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church in Bear Creek. She worked for Clintonville Glove Factory for 10 years, the Flanagan Sauerkraut Factory in Bear Creek for 45 years and part-time for 5 years for the Bush Brothers in Shiocton. Her greatest joys were working with flowers, gardening, watching the birds from her living room window, and crocheting afghans for her family and friends. Laura is survived by four daughters: Geraldine (Kenneth) Hansen, Shiocton; Judith (Lyle) Manley, Greenville; Sandy Williams, Shiocton; Susan (James) Dahlke, Appleton; four sons: Junior (Christine) Greely, Mt Holly, NC; James (Margaret) Greely, Crandon; Kenneth (Dianne) Greely, Shiocton; Willard "Buck" (Marilyn) Greely, Shiocton; a brother, Jess Riehl, New London; a sister, Edna Mundt, New London. She is further survived by 30 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, 17 great, great-grandchildren, a daughter in-law, Teresa Greely, many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Lawrence and Roy, three sisters, Ruth Schroeder, Elnora Ross and Bernice Riehl; a grandson, Shawn Robert, a brother in-law, Cliff Schroeder and a sister in-law, Jean Riehl and a son-in-law, George Williams. Funeral services for Laura will be held on Monday, January 17, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, Bear Creek with Rev. Matt Ruesch officiating. Burial will be in the Danish Cemetery, Bear Creek. Visitation will be held at the Borchardt and Moder Funeral Home in Shiocton on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Special thanks to the Bear Creek First Responders, the staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Grace Lutheran Ladies Aid, Pastor Matt Ruesch for all the love, care and heartfelt prayers and the many friends in Christ who kept Laura in their prayers over the years.
