  In this city on Tuesday night, July 8th., Mrs. Anna Mary Nellessen, wife of E. Nellessen, aged 70 years, 4 months and 11 days. News of the death of this old and respected citizen was received with the deepest regret by the community. She was a woman, who during her long residence here had made a friend of every person with whom she came in contact, a loving wife, who shared the joys and sorrows of her aged husband, a kind and devoted mother who was always doing something for the benefit of her children, an obliging neighbor and a true and sincere Christian. She has been a strong and healthy woman until the past few years when she became subject heart trouble. During her last sickness she bore her suffering with true Christian fortitude, never complaining and doing all she could to make it pleasant for those around her. She was born in Regierung Bezirk Trier, Prussia, Feb. 27, 1820. In 1846 she came to America and settled in Milwaukee where she was married Sept. 26, 1847 to Mr. E. Nellessen. She and her husband were in Milwaukee County one year and then removed to Marytown where they remained until 1852, when her husband came to Chilton and purchased the blacksmith shop owned by a Mr. Shufflebottom. She has resided here ever since until called to her maker. She leaves a husband, two sons, Nic and Henry and three daughters, Mrs. A. Bell, Mrs. E. Glady and Miss Annie to mourn her death. The funeral took place from St. Mary's church on Friday and was largely attended.
