  DIED – At the village of Hayton, this county, on the 11th day of may 1866 of Puerperal Fever, Mrs. Charlotte M. Watrous, wife of H. I Watrous, Esq., aged forty years and seven months. Truly, can it be said of the deceased that she lived and died a Christian. She early manifested a lively faith in the promises of God as revealed in His sacred word, and those virtues which so beatify and adorn the Christian character she possessed in an eminent degree through all the various changes and vicissitude of life. She glorified her Savior not only by being ever ready to do his will in all the relations of life but by a submissive and happy death calmly relying in His promises and bearing a lovely testimony to those around her of His grace in comforting and sustaining her in a dying hour. Earnestly directing her loved ones to the foot of the Cross where she had found such consolation, she committed herself and family into the hands of Him "Who doeth all things well," and while rejoicing in her Savior, and counseling her friends to meet her in heaven where she said "there is sweet rest" her spirit took its flight to the realms of the blessed. A devoted wife, a kind and affectionate mother, a true friend and an earnest Christian is no more. The afflicted husband and to those five motherless children, who are thus early deprived of a mother's tender care and to the aged mother of the deceased whose feeble footsteps give proof that another bright link of the silver cord that binds her to earth is broken, and to the friends and acquaintances of the deceased, the sympathies of the entire community are extended.
