  William A. 'Bill' EhlertWilliam A. "Bill" Ehlert, 64, of 4955 Highway 13-73, Vesper, died early Th ursday morning, July 4, 2002, at his residence, after a courageous batt le with cancer.Services will be at 7 p.m. on Monday at Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin R apids. The Rev. Gary Albert will officiate.Mr. Ehlert was born on Nov. 1, 1937, in Wisconsin Rapids, to Elmer and Io la (Albert) Ehlert. He married Judy Coenen on Feb. 4, 1961, in Greenleaf.Mr. Ehlert had been employed as a truck driver for many years until his re tirement.He was a member of the Consolidated Tree Farm and the National Rifle Assoc iation. He enjoyed nature, being on his woodlands, feeding the deer, bowli ng, baseball, following the Brewers and Packers and, most of all, spendi ng time with all his grandchildren.Survivors include his wife, Judy, of Vesper; one son, Tony Ehlert, of Vesp er; one daughter, Lorrie (Greg) Becker, of Sherry; two grandchildren, Brad ley and Zachary; two sisters, Carol (Ralph) Hamel and Elaine (Rick) Van Er t, both of Vesper; one brother, David (Sarah) Ehlert, of Vesper; and sever al nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and one brother ( Donald).Friends may call at Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids from 4-7 p. m. Monday.
