  Elaine R. Duquaine, 83, De Pere, went to her eternal rest on Sunday, April 29, 2007, her birthday. Elaine was born on April 29, 1924, to the late Frank and Elizabeth (Heuvelmans) Hermsen of De Pere. On May 29, 1942, she married Lewis A. Duquaine at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Green Bay. They lived in Fond du Lac for 26 years where they owned and operated their own business. De Pere became their home in 1970. Elaine worked at Bellin Hospital for six years and at Family Practice for 20 years. Elaine loved to bake and cook, sharing her creations with relatives and friends. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Susan Duquaine, De Pere; one daughter, Judy D. Allen, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one granddaughter, Rachel (Duquaine) and Chris Goffard, De Pere; great-granddaughters, Catherine and Emma; one brother, Gerald and Peetie Hermsen, Green Bay; sisters, Bernadette Staddler, Green Bay; Tessie Frisbie, Kansas; two sisters-in-law, Anita Hermsen, Green Bay; Pauline Hermsen, Texas. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis A. Duquaine on Sept. 17, 1986; her parents; four brothers and five sisters; four brothers-in-law. Family and friends may call at St Mary Catholic Community, Pope John XXIII Circle, off Sportsmans Drive, town of Ledgeview on Thursday from 9:30 until 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with Rev. John H. Harper officiating. Interment Mount Calvary Cemetery De Pere. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. We would like to thank the nurses and staff at Ledgeview Nursing Center for their tender loving care and compassion that was given to Elaine. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family.
