  Lawrence J. Harris, "Larry", Menasha, age 69, died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 10, 2007, after a lengthy illness. Larry was born November 5, 1937, in Stambaugh township, Michigan. He graduated from Stambaugh High School in 1956. Larry had worked at JJ Newberry Store in Iron River. He joined the Army National Guard in 1960. He was there for 8 years mostly as a cook and he also worked for dry cleaners and later at the Red Owl store in Iron River, Michigan. He was an active member of the Jaycees holding offices of secretary, treasurer, vice president and president during his years with that organization. He was involved with the Snowmobile Derby and Food basket fundraising programs. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Larry moved to Wisconsin in 1971, after marrying Kathleen Wianecki from Menasha. He worked at Akrosil Corporation from May 1973 to November 2000 when he retired. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Clement in 1966 and Viola (Marcell) in 1986. Harris, his sister Theresa as an infant before 1937, and five infant grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, his daughters: Theresa (Myron) Dillard, Laurie Harris, Karen Harris (fiance Brett Griffin), also grandchildren: Brandon, Jade, Arionna and Madelyn. He is further survived by his brother; Charles Harris of Green Bay, his sister Elaine Schmidt of Two Rivers, and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Funeral services for Larry will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at 11 a.m., at the Martens-Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee St., Menasha, with Sister Mary Arnoldussen officiating. Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. and again on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service. Following services on Wednesday, the family will process to St. John Cemetery for burial and military rites by the William Verhagen Post #60 of Kimberly.
