  Erwin P. Hertel, age 96, of New Holstein, died Sunday, February 18, 2007, at the Calumet Medical Center in Chilton. He was born October 27, 1910, in Chilton, a son of the late Philip and Rose (Harlfinger) Hertel. He graduated from Chilton High School in 1929, and had also attended Sheboygan Business College. On September 25, 1935, he married Hilaria Krautkramer at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chilton; she preceded him in death on June 2, 2002. Erwin worked as a carpenter for Langenfeld Construction. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein. Survivors include two sons: Roger (Arlene) Hertel of El Paso, TX; and Timothy (Judy) Hertel of Grafton; two daughters: Donna Neuber of Middleton; and Jane Hagensick of Oak Creek; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Arnold (Bernice) Hertel of Chilton; and a sister-in-law, Vivian Hertel of Chilton. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Hilaria; a daughter, Christine; a son-in-law, Richard Neuber; eight brothers and two sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2007, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein. The Rev. Harold Berryman, Pastor, officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery. The Sippel Funeral Home in New Holstein 920-898-4300 assisted the family.
