  Stanley Emshoff, 85, passed away quietly at his son's home in Menasha, Wisconsin, on Sunday, August 17, 2008. He was born September 29, 1922, in Duluth, Minnesota, son of Karl and Wanda Emshoff. Stanley served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Philippine Islands. He was in the Bataan Death March and was a P.O.W. of Japan from 1942-1945. Stanley was married to Delores (Zuleger) Emshoff for 61 years and she preceded him in death June 10, 2008. Mr. Emshoff was employed at UW-Fox Valley on Midway Road, Menasha, as a maintenance supervisor until his retirement in 1986. Stanley loved to watch NASCAR with his wife and always kept a close eye on Jeff Gordon, car #24. He also enjoyed traveling, and listening to country music. Stanley will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Stanley is survived by his sons: Michael (Deborah Lederhaus) Emshoff, Menasha; Charles (Cindy) Emshoff, Neenah; daughters: Judy (Gary) Schmidt, Neenah; Marsha (Pete) Hoehne, Little Chute; Terri (Gary) Erickson, Menasha; Brenda (Kurt) Otto, New London; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; a special nephew, Rick Emshoff, Clearwater, FL; special dog, Missy. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Wanda Emshoff. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at the Kessler Funeral Home with Rev. James Seim officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Neenah. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service. Full military honors will be performed following the service Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the American Diabetes Association.
