  Glen A. Springer, age 83, New London, passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family on Thursday, October 30, 2008. Glen was born on November 22, 1924, in Bloomer, Wisconsin, son of the late Wesley and Rose (Smith) Springer. On January 29, 1944, Glen was united in marriage to Myrinda C. Fry in Park Falls, WI; she preceded him in death on March 5, 2000. He was a New London resident since 1958. He was employed as a professional truck driver with Benson Company in Weyauwega for 30 years; he drove over 4½ million miles. He was a former Alderman in New London. He served on the First Congregational United Church of Christ church council. In 1996 he and his wife retired to Zephyrhills, FL; he moved back to New London to live with his daughter in April of this year. Glen is survived by three sons: Jim (Kathy) Springer, Sister Bay; Jerry (Jenny) Biloxi, MS; and Ron (Debbie) Springer, Spring Hill, FL; a daughter, Sandy Springer, New London. Ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren also survive him. Funeral services for Glen will be held on Monday, November 3, 2008, at 11 a.m. at First Congregational United Church of Christ in New London, with Rev. Greg Watling officiating. Interment will be in the Floral Hill Cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
