  Pagel, Robert Louis "Bob" On Tuesday, February 10, 2009, Robert Louis Pagel, formerly of Neenah, died peacefully with his daughter at his side, after suffering many years with chronic lung disease. Bob was born on March 3, 1924, in New London, son of the late Louis and Irma (Schoenrock) Pagel. He married Jacqueline Behnke and together they raised seven children and will be sadly missed by: Gerald (Paula) Pagel, Tom (Carol) Pagel, Tim (Diane) Pagel, Debra (Scott) Douville, Mary Beth (Dave) Van Gompel and Laurie Pagel. Bob was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II - South Pacific as a Corporal during the Invasion of the Philippines on the Island of Leyte and also in Okinawa. He was also a member of the V.F.W. in Menasha. Bob had been employed by American Can Company for 40 years and retired from there in 1986. Bob will also be missed by his grandchildren: Jeff Pagel, Brad (Carolyn) Pagel, Rob (Lori) Pagel, Andrea (Todd) Wudke, Nicholas (Alaina) Pagel, Amy Pagel, Erik (fiancee Amy Thibadeu) Pagel, Scot Pagel, Jennifer Pagel, Andrea Douville, Elizabeth Gauthier, Danielle Gauthier, Dana (Brandon) Kucksdorf, and Ross Van Gompel; his great-grandchildren: Alisha Pagel, Morgan Pagel, Jay Pagel, Ashlyn Pagel, Johnathon Pagel, Kendra Pagel, Savannah Pagel, Paige Wudke, Cameron Pagel, Brooklyn Kucksdorf, and Addisyn Van Gompel; three brothers: Marvin (Connie) Pagel, John Pagel, David (Donna) Pagel; two sisters: Lois (Lyle) Barth, Sally (Gerald) Tummett; a sister-in-law, Marge Stern; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Bob was also preceded in death by a son, Mark Pagel; a great-granddaughter, Brooke Pagel; two brothers: Harry and Kenneth Pagel; and a sister-in-law, Hazel Pagel. A Funeral Mass will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2009, at St. Margaret-Mary Catholic Church, 620 Division Street, Neenah, with Rev. Michael Ingold officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. Military Rites will be preformed by American Legion William Verhagen Post #60 of Kimberly at the church after the service. Interment will take place in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Neenah. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Veterans Museum in Oshkosh or to the Shriner's Children's Hospital in Chicago. The family would like to extend a special thank you to ThedaCare Hospice, especially our "angel of mercy" Amy Ambrosias and all the many CNAs that helped through the difficult time.
