  Lorraine M. Arndt, 90, Appleton, departed this life on May 23, 2009, at Brewster Village. She was born on July 18, 1918, in Waupaca, the daughter of the late Irwin and Esther (Schlichting) Lewis. On Oct. 18, 1938, she married Gerhardt Arndt and he preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 2001. She is survived by her children, Richard (Joan) Arndt, Park City, Utah; Judy (Ken Fields) Schmidt, Weyauwega; and Gary (Mary) Arndt, Appleton; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; brother, Kenneth (Ilda) Lewis; sister-in-law, Ella Lewis; brother-in-law, Robert (Phyllis) Arndt; sisters-in-law, Ruth (Ralph) Strohschein, Vivian Arndt and Judith Arndt Bloom; many nieces and nephews. Lorraine was preceded in death by her brother, Clifford Lewis; sisters-in-law, Leona (Maynard) Strohschein and Esther (Ernie) Hooyman; and brother-in-law, Frank Arndt. A Celebration of Lorraine's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2009, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN CHAPEL with the Rev. Leon Knitt officiating. Inurnment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh. Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
