  Barbara J. Koehn of Oshkosh, formerly of Berlin. On Wednesday, July 15, 2009, the angels of heaven came to take Barbara J. Koehn, 71, Oshkosh, home to the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ. She died peacefully at Theda Clark Medical Center surrounded by family. She was born on January 20, 1938, in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Harry and Jeanette (Eigner) Westphal. Barbara married the love her life, Kenneth H. Koehn, on September 14, 1957, who preceded her in death in 1985. Barbara was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. She was a graduate of Riverside High School in Milwaukee. Barbara was retired and formerly worked as a Nursing Assistant at Omro Care Center and for Dr. John T. Campbell, M.D. in Neenah. She also was formerly employed as an Emergency Medical Technician for the city of Berlin and as a Medical Records Clerk at Affinity Medical Center in Oshkosh. Barbara loved gardening, cooking knitting and spending time with her children, grandchildren and canine companion Scruffy. A beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Barbara will be missed by many. She is survived by a son, Kenneth (Jeanne) H. Koehn Jr., Fort Collins, Co.; four daughters: Christine (James) St. Mary, Appleton; Diana Koehn, Oshkosh; Andrea (James) Wilke, Green Bay; and Jennifer (Lawrence) London, Winneconne; 11 grandchildren: Shauna, Lucas and Jacob St. Mary; Nicole and Sarah Koehn; Angela Koehn; Landen, Hayden and Alivia Wilke; and Shaela and Madeline London; a sister Connie Reese, Cudahy; and a brother Jerome Westphal, Orange City, Fla. A visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2009, with a funeral service to celebrate Barbara's life at 3 p.m. Visitation and the service will be at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2450 W. 9th Ave., Oshkosh, with the Pastor Roger A. Erdman officiating and entombment will be at a later date in the Lakeview Memorial Park of Oshkosh. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a memorial fund to get a therapy dog for her autistic granddaughter Shaela. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Michelle Lopez, M.D., Dr. Steven Price, M.D., Hospice caregivers and the nurses of the Neurologic Unit at Theda Clark Medical Center, especially Sara, Bobbi and Jamie.
