  Phyllis Mary Van Epps, 87, New London, fell asleep in Jesus on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at New London Family Medical Center following a lingering illness. She was born Dec. 12, 1921, in New London, daughter of the late Albert and Ella (Wulk) Stern. Phyllis married Lyle Snyder in 1941, then later married Rexford Buck, who preceded her in death in 1974. She then married Robert Van Epps Sr., who preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 2009. She graduated from Washington High School in New London, and also from Oshkosh Business College. She was employed by the Edison Co. in New London, prior to joining Appleton Juvenile Furniture Co. as an executive secretary. She later worked for the Krostue Law Office until her retirement. Phyllis was a life member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, traveling, reading and was well-known for her cooking skills. She also enjoyed playing the piano and listening to music. Survivors include her son, Lee (Connie) Snyder, Greenville; grandchildren, Wendy (Gary) Bekx, Jodi (Brian) St. Aubin and their children, Claire and Paul, all of Greenville; step-daughters, Rosemary Van Epps and her friend, Richard, Rosholt; Carol Casselman, Tomah; step-sons, Robert, Jr. (Joy) Van Epps and James (Patricia) Van Epps, all of Waupaca; step-grandchildren, Jon, Darla, Jesse, Randy, Scott, Dan, Colleen, Amy, Sarah, Kay, Mike, Bruce, Kim, Angela, Michelle, Shane, Melissa, Chris, Karrie, Matthew, Brian and Kayla; 17 step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Tom and Cindy Barton, Donna Hanson and June Huettl; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rexford Buck; and husband, Robert Van Epps Sr.; and three brothers, Sylvester, Elroy and Kenneth. The Christian funeral service for Phyllis will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London, with the Rev. Marcus Schulz officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Weyauwega. A visitation will be held directly at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. The family wishes to thank the staffs at New London Family Medical Center, Weyauwega Health Care Center, Appleton Medical Center, Living Tree Estates of Greenville, and also the many special people (you know who you are) who made the lives of Bob and Phyllis easier.
