  David L. Klein, 68, Appleton, passed away Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at Appleton Medical Center following complications from a heart attack. He was born July 13, 1941, in Appleton, to the late Erwin and Lydes (Becher) Klein. Dave married Kathleen Kraus on Dec. 6, 1974. He was a mechanic for many years at the Dodge Garage and also at Bill's Auto in Little Chute, until his retirement in 2005. He loved bowling, attending parades, going out for long walks and going out for breakfast with his wife and friends. He also enjoyed working on and driving his two collector cars and his new convertible. He will be greatly missed by his wife of almost 35 years, Kathleen; children, Michael (Sheli) Klein, Greenville; Rick Glaser, Appleton; Patricia Glaser, Shiocton; Dawn (Joe) Sheldon, St. John; and Vicki (Butch) Buksyk, Weyauwega; nine grandchildren, Cassie (Mike) Griese, Christina Kennedy, Trista Glaser (fiance, Jon Krentz), Katlyn Sheldon, Alicia Paeth, Matt Paeth, Nick Buksyk, Zac and Gavin Klein; three great-grandchildren, Ethan Griese, Coralyn Griese and Joshua Glaser Krentz; a sister, Nancy (Tom) Aykens, Menasha; and a brother, Bob (Mary) Klein, Appleton; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Alice (Jim) Eggert, Bob (Sandy) Kraus, Delores (Neal) Hembel, Shirley (Jerry) Brinkman, Carol (Mike) Sly, Mary (Jim) Killen, Ron Kraus and Sharon (Mark) Heimmermann. He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many relatives and friends. David was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin (Lydes) Klein; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence (Marcella) Kraus; and a brother-in-law, Dan Kraus. A Mass of Celebration for David will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at St. Pius X Catholic Church (500 W. Marquette St.) Appleton, with the Rev. Thomas Farrell officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends may visit the family Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church and also Wednesday at church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass.
